POWERED BY WOMEN

fleete’s MISSION

Fleete is an online community designed to connect current and former female athletes through various channels of social and professional engagements. In comparison to male counterparts, opportunities and resources are fairly limited across all levels of athletics. There is also a lack of positive recognition and celebration of young women in athletics. Furthermore, the lack of advocacy for female athletes and gender equality in sports is becoming more and more of a scarcity than ever before. Fleete serves as the overarching solution to combat these challenges with the implementation of mentorship, professional and networking workshops, and activism events.

our story

Fleete was founded in September 2018 by Columbia University alumna, Niteesa Brooks and Josephine Watson.  Niteesa and Josephine competed together as Division 1 track and field scholar-athletes at Long Island University Brooklyn.  Although they have witnessed athletics evolve over the years, there are still countless injustices and inequalities female athletes endure at all levels of athletics and the sports industry.

Support

There is a lack of advocacy for female athletes. Fleete provides resources to support female athletes through their personal and professional journeys.

Empowerment

There are fewer opportunities and resources for collegiate, amateur, and professional female athletes compared to our male counterparts.

Connection

Build and connect with other fleeters through online forums, community and networking events, mentorship, and much more!
